Making a poster! (part1)
dig deep into everything you need for a good poster
The question is, how do you make a kick-ass poster?
To answer that question, I tried to make a kick-ass tutorial on it.
As I've mention, there's no right or wrong in making a poster. It's combining everything you know. That's not hard but people tend to put in 'TOO MUCH'. So, first tip: DON'T OVERWORK A POSTER. Effects are love, but too much are not.
Here is my poster timeline of the significant styles I've tried. It's from OLDEST->NEWEST.

You can see how I can put anything I want to on anywhere I feel like, but there are some things in common.
Here are some basic composition of poster.

Caracters: When taking request, I often need to blend many characters together. I suggest you don't blend more than three characters together unless you are very capable.
Text: Text is probably the most important part to fanfic poster since it's where people first glance at. Try to make it visible and dominant.
Mood: Mood is a hard concept to achieve, but you can develop it. Mood is impacted by the character's facial and body expression, color, and decorations. I can say that this poster's mood is lonely by looking at their faces, and how they are both waiting. How about the empty bench? What does that tell you?
Subtext: Subtext can be short descriptions, quotes, author, or your name. Sometime you have many subtexts, and you have to learn to place it so that they don't dominate the main text.
Decorations: View, objects, tiny texts, brushes, or lines. They help add interesting details and mood of the story (just don't use something that don't go along!) as well as cover parts you can't blend together neatly. THIS IS THE PART YOU MUST NOT OVERWORK!
