The secret to retouch, and getting your picture ready

So... how do you actually get all these pictures ready before decorating them?
Good question.

It's just like make up, but cheaper. You just need a picture, photoshop, and this tutorial.
A good foundation would leads you to good outcome, see this:

Before putting on make up.. all those lipstick and stuff, you need to use some concealer and whatever you call right?
Same here. I'm going to bring out BoA.

This picture is not the worst case senario, but close.
The picture is LQ and the color is dull. Fix it? How?

Decrease the size... whoooo, quick eh?
But sometime you need it to be big... so here's how

1. Duplicate a layer then set it to soft light.

2. Use blur tool to blur the pixel-ish part. The picture shows : Non-blur --> good blur --> too much blur

TIPS: If the picture is too blurred in the first place, go to filter>sharpen.

Make sure you use the appropiate size of brush while blurring. Some part may not need to be blurred with 100 strength as well. So be flexible.

The concealer part is done, lets put on some powder.
1. Pick a color, fill a layer with it.
2. Use EXTREMELY big fluffy eraser and just press once onto the area you want to erase (EMPHASIZE: PRESS ONCE, DON'T DRAG)

You might want to use gradient instead of solid color. Do the same thing.

I decided to use both gradient and solid color and put in some shiny, glowing spot. I guess this is like a primmer/eyeshadow/ blush.

Don't be scared to use many layers. They do not kill. Plus, it keeps you organize.

Then I put in some more decoration to tone my poster. Doesn't really fit, eh?

Since I didn't really like the flower in the previous step, I filter it using motion blur.

Monotone is boring, I added in some brighter colors using the same step. However, I still keep the blue-ish tone. Notice I recolored her face a bit just to make everything more fantasy. Afterall, that's why we have photoshop.

The font is like eyeliner, some good with it, some doesnt need it.
